DOCTORAL STUDENTSIntroduction [Biosketch]
- Dr. Subhadeep Biswas received the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) Degree in Construction Engineering in 2016 from Jadavpur University. After graduation, he joined M. Tech programme at IIT Kharagpur in the civil engineering department (specialization: Environmental Engineering and Management). During the second year of his M. Tech curriculum, he worked in exploring surfactant modified alumina supported manganese oxide catalyst towards Fenton type degradation of dye wastewater. In 2018, after completing masters, he joined the same department in IIT Kharagpur for Ph. D. programme. During his Ph. D. tenure, he developed a novel analytical method based on spectrophotometric principle for determination and quantification of cationic surfactant (CS) in water medium. Further, he prepared alginate-xanthan biopolymer composite for CS adsorption as well as removal of other pollutants such as dyes and heavy metals. Currently, he is working as an assistant professor in Civil Engineering Department, NIT Silchar since 06.11.2023. He has an interest in exploring different biopolymer composites towards wastewater treatment.
